GE has also revitalized a piece of Vancouver history by sponsoring the restoration of the Robson Square outdoor skating rink to become the GE Ice Plaza; the rink offers free public skating and performances by Olympic figure skaters and the 2010 mascots.

Olympians to skate @ GE Plaza
Olympic gold medalists Scott Hamilton, Martin Brodeur, Angela Ruggiero will take to the ice and salute the Health Heroes of the Vancouver Games – the medical staff and volunteers from VANOC who dedicate themselves to keeping athletes and fans healthy. Athletes will be available to media for interviews and photo opportunity.

GE Healthcare’s latest ultrasound innovation, Vscan, will be used at the Mobile Medical Unit in support of athletes, trainers and visitors attending the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games competitions. Vscan is a small, non-invasive ultra sound device that provides clinicians with an immediate method to help secure visual information about what is happening inside the body.
